Why are applicants the only people that can request an applicant inquiry?
Applicant inquiries involve personal application information protected under federal privacy laws. To safeguard sensitive data and verify identity, only the applicant may request an inquiry about their application. Staff Acquisition cannot discuss application details with supervisors, family members, coworkers, or other third parties. This policy helps protect applicants’ privacy and maintain the integrity of the hiring process.
When should I submit an applicant inquiry?
Applicants should first review the job announcement, their USAJOBS account, and any emails received regarding the position. If your question is not answered through those resources, then you should submit an applicant inquiry.
How to see your application and job status?
You can track the status of your job applications by signing in to your USAJOBS account and selecting the Applications section. There, you can view the status of each application, review submitted documents, and see updates from the hiring agency. Status updates may indicate whether your application has been received, reviewed, referred to the hiring manager, or if a selection decision has been made.
